How a Gazette name change works

A Gazette name change is the publication of your change of name in an official government Gazette. For an adult using the Central Government route, the notice is published in the Gazette of India, Part IV, by the Department of Publication.

The usual sequence is a signed undertaking, a notice in a daily local leading newspaper, the prescribed Gazette application, the government fee, submission to the Department, and then publication.
